What is inverter?
Inverter technology refers to the compressor within the outdoor unit of the air conditioner. There are two types of compressors: a fixed speed compressor or an inverter compressor. The fixed speed will run at 100% of its capacity and will stop and start automatically when the room reaches its desired temperature. An inverter compressor will run continuously at varying capacities as it aims to maintain a consistent temperature. Thus giving a more even and stable temperature in the room.

Is inverter cheaper to run?
Provided your air conditioner’s capacity has been selected appropriate to your room size, inverter systems should be cheaper to run than the fixed speed equivalent.

What is the difference between horse power and kilowatts?
LG rates its air conditioners capacities in the metric measurement of Kilowatt (Kw). This is a more accurate terminology when describing air conditioning capacity.
